Welcome To
WORKSHOPS
Step into a bold, playful workshop experience where risk, imagination, and physicality take center stage.
Through group exercises, guided exploration, and individual performance, participants will uncover how simple choices can unlock bold characters, deepen storytelling, and strengthen stage presence. Rooted in imagination and self-created physical work, this approach to clowning encourages curiosity, spontaneity, and the joy of the unknown.
Open to performers of all backgrounds, our workshops offer practical tools that can be applied across improv, comedy, theatre, dance, and beyond.

We offer a variety of clowning and physical theatre workshops ranging from one-hour sessions to full weekend intensives. Let us know what you’re interested in, and we’ll tailor the experience to suit your group.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Lauren Brady is an international award-winning creator, performer, and master of beautifully unhinged physical comedy. Based in Canada, she is the founder of Bad Knees Studios (formerly HEYwire Theatre) and a leading voice in contemporary clown, bouffon, and devised physical theatre.

Her performances are bold, physical, and unapologetically strange—inviting audiences into worlds where desire, comedy, and vulnerability collide. Lauren’s solo show SWAN? launched her onto the international circuit, where it earned over ten 5-star reviews and toured major festivals including Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe, captivating audiences with its feral blend of clown, dance, and dark humour.

As a teacher, Brady has experience teaching Canadian clowning at The University of Alberta, Azimuth Theatre, as well as her own private workshop series that has most recently taken her to the Improv Sydney Theatre, and The Q Performing Arts Centre!
